A finished attic adds habitable and unique square footage to a home. Typical homeowners only face the uncomfortable climate conditions and lackluster structure of their attics when reaching for holiday decorations, stowed pastime equipment and home movies. Renovators, however, are wise to refurbish attics and convert them to additional bedrooms, bathrooms or family rooms. The trick to a loveable, cozy attic is going beyond basic construction; even with drywall and new flooring installed, an unornamented space still emits a gloomy and unwelcoming ambiance.
